On Friday morning, May 7th, 62 volunteers arrived at The Golf Club Scottsdale to learn more about the Aids Caregiver program and help with the assembly. More than sixty volunteers gathered at The Golf Club Scottsdale to learn more about the AIDS Caregiver program and assemble 1000 kits that will provide much needed supplies to local volunteers in Lesotho, Africa this coming December.
Golf Fore Africa was able to procure the materials for these caregiver kits with funds raised at the recent Visions of Hope event in Scottsdale, Arizona. Each kit equips one compassionate caregiver with the practical materials they need to improve and prolong the lives of community members suffering with HIV/AIDS, while protecting the themselves and preventing the spread of infection. The kits contain basic items such as soap, latex gloves, and simple medications that are not otherwise accessible or affordable for these volunteers and needy families.
Many thanks to the Golf Club Scottsdale, the volunteers, and our partners at McKesson Medical Group and World Vision. We were delighted to have Brian Tyler, The Golf Club Scottsdale member and President of McKesson Medical Group on hand to help with the build. McKesson Medical has been instrumental in helping World Vision procure the supplies for the kits. World Vision is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that trains and equips localized volunteer AIDS caregivers in many remote regions of Africa.
